Friday 27^th June 2009 saw over 50 talented Sports Leaders from Hyndburn and Ribble

Valley School Sports Partnership take part in an outdoor adventurous weekend at the PGL

Outdoor Centre at Winmarleigh Hall near Garstang.

Over 50 young leaders from across the local high schools and colleges came together at Norden High School to take part in the first ever Step into Sport Training Day to be held Hyndburn and Ribble Valley. The participants were split into three groups and took part in a range of different activities which were expertly delivered by Sports and Physical Education Staff from Accrington and Rossendale College. These included Team Building, Officiating and Skill and Performance Analysis.

The day proved to be hugely popular and successful and enabled pupils from different academic institutes to share ideas and develop new skills together. Our thanks go to Becky, Mark and Jason from Accrington and Rossendale College who gave their time freely to ensure that the event was a great success and to the SSCOs from each school who transported the pupils to Norden to allow them to take part.

It is intended that the day is the start of the process of sharing information between pupils and staff from different schools to develop leadership across the partnership. Watch this space for news of future events.
